Your Questions, Answered

  • I offer a range of services built around anxiety and the life stages where it tends to show up most.

One-to-one therapy — ongoing individual sessions, in person or online, for anyone working through anxiety, stress, low mood, or a difficult chapter in life.

Structured therapy packages — for people who want a clear beginning, middle and end rather than open-ended work. These are the Anxiety Reset (8 weeks), the Menopause Reset (6 weeks), the New Mother Reset (6 weeks), and the Midlife Reset (8 weeks).

Family counselling — family members included as part of your individual work when that's helpful, or independent family sessions when a family unit wants to work on something together.

Workplace wellness workshops — half-day workshops for teams, focused on Managing Workplace Anxiety, Resilience Under Pressure, and Menopause at Work, with an optional Lunch & Learn for managers on Supporting an Anxious Colleague.

If you're not sure which option would suit you best, send me a short email and I'll help you figure it out.

  • Reaching out for the first time can feel like a big step — especially when anxiety is part of what's brought you here. I've tried to make it as simple as possible.

    1. Send me a short email at una.mentalese@gmail.ie. You don't need to explain everything. A line or two is enough — roughly what's bringing you, and whether you'd prefer in-person or online sessions.

    2. I'll reply within two working days with some suggested times. If you'd like a free 15-minute phone call before booking, just ask — many people find it helpful to hear a voice and check it feels like the right fit before committing to a session.

    3. Book your first session. First sessions last around an hour. There's no pressure to book anything beyond that — we use the time to talk through what's going on and decide together whether ongoing work makes sense for you.

If email feels like too much right now, you can also use the contact form on my Contact page. Whichever route is easiest is the right one.

  • Choosing a therapist is more about fit than about finding "the best" one. What matters most is whether you feel you can sit with the person opposite you and talk openly. So rather than make a case for why I'm right, here's what I can offer — and you can decide whether it sounds like a good fit.

Anxiety is my specialist area. Not one of many things I work with — the core of what I do. I've been in clinical practice since 2011, and I know the patterns, the loops, and the small fears that so often go unspoken.

You can choose how we work together. Some people want open-ended therapy. Others want a structured programme with a clear beginning, middle, and end — which is why I built the Anxiety Reset and the other packages. Both are available.

In person or online. Some people need to be in the same room. Others find online easier, especially when anxiety makes leaving the house feel like a project. Either works, and you can switch between them.

A warm, plain way of working. No jargon, no clipboard, no clinical distance — just care, plain language, and the training and experience quietly holding everything from behind the scenes.

If any of that sounds like a fit, the best next step is a free 15-minute phone call. You'll know within the first few minutes whether my voice feels like one you can work with.

  • The easiest way to reach me is by email at una.mentalese@gmail.com, or use the contact form on my contact page — both land in the same inbox, so use whichever feels simpler.

I aim to reply within two working days. If you haven't heard from me by then, please check your spam folder before following up — my replies can sometimes land there the first time.

If you'd rather talk than write, mention it in your messageand I'll call you back at a time we agree.

A short message is always enough. A couple of lines is plenty for me to get back to you with some suggested times.

  • I keep pricing simple and upfront — everything you need is on this page.

One-to-one sessions Individual therapy sessions are €95.00 per 50-minute weekly session, in person or online. Payment is made at the end of each session by bank transfer or card.

There are other individual services please see here.

Structured packages If you'd prefer a clear programme rather than open-ended work, packages are:

    • Anxiety Reset — 8 weeks — €800

    • Menopause Reset — 6 weeks — €720

    • Midlife Reset — 8 weeks — €800

Packages can be paid in full at the start, or split into two payments (half at the start, half at the midpoint).

Workplace workshops Half-day workshops for teams start at €995. Full details are on the Workshops page.

Free intro call A 15-minute phone call to see if we're a good fit is always free.

Cancellation policy I ask for 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged at the full session fee, so the time we've set aside stays protected.

  • Most people are a bit nervous coming into a first session — partly because of whatever brought them, and partly because of the unknown. So here's a sense of what the experience is actually like.

The setting. Whether we meet in person or online, the space is warm and quiet. No clipboard on my lap, no long list of questions, no clinical feel. Just a conversation, with all the professional structure holding things from behind the scenes.

The pace. You lead. Some people arrive with a clear idea of what they want to talk about; others have no idea and need a few sessions to find the shape of it. Both are completely fine. I won't push you into places you're not ready to go — and when we're heading somewhere worth looking at, I'll flag it so you always have the choice.

Between sessions. A lot of the real change happens in the quiet moments between our conversations — in the noticing, the small shifts, the new choices. Where it's useful, I'll suggest a simple practice or a question to sit with during the week. Nothing is ever compulsory, and there's no test on Monday.

How I work. Warm, plain-speaking, and a little bit practical. I trust you to know yourself. My job is to help you see what you already know, gently hold space for the bits that are harder to look at alone, and give you tools that make a real difference between sessions, not just during them.

The best way to find out if it suits you is the free 15-minute phone call — or a first session with no commitment to anything beyond that one hour.
